Maartje Raijmakers is a professor of Psychology at the University of Amsterdam and the science museum NEMO, as well as a professor of Educational Sciences at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, with a multidisciplinary background. Additionally, she is a student at the Rietveld Academie. Her scientific work focuses on visual perception and attention, and how these processes interact with learning and interest in diverse contexts, including the arts. She creates short films, photo collages, and multimedia installations that combine physical and digital materials. Maartje plays with the processes of observation and representation, exploring intimate relationships between the observer and the tangible world.
